Creating custom access permissions

Access permissions determine the locations for which a user can access data in an organization. Energy Hub includes predefined All My Organization access permissions. You can also create custom access permissions.

NOTE: Restricting data access for a user limits their privileges. For details, see Limited privileges for users with restricted access permissions.

TIP: Use existing access permissions as a starting point for custom access permissions. See Copying access permissions for details.

TIP: Custom access permissions are based on your organization model. If you find it difficult to define the right access permissions, then review and adjust your organization model. A well-defined organization makes it easy to set user roles and access permissions.

To create custom access permissions:

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Access tab, select Create new access permissions. The Create new access permissions panel displays.
  3. In the Create new access permissions panel, enter information to define the new access permissions.
  4. Select Save.
