Users
[Web app and mobile app]
A user in Energy Hub is a logical entity that gives you access to the system. A user has certain privileges that define what the user can do and the data they can access. Users are part of an organization in Energy Hub. The first user for an organization is added automatically when you create the organization. You add additional users by inviting them to join the organization. Energy Hub does not limit the number of users you can invite to an organization.
A user has a username, a password, a company name, a status, a user role, and access permissions. The username, password, and company name are defined and managed through the Schneider Electric ID This is the account you can use to log in to all Schneider services, including Energy Hub..
The user role and access are defined in Energy Hub.
Example user:
Username | – | Jane Cooper |
Password | – | xxxxxx |
Company name | – | Mindt Chocolates |
User role | – | Admin |
Access permissions | – | Prague Factory |
User roles
User roles are assigned to users. They determine the actions a user can perform in Energy Hub. Each role has a predefined set of privileges that cannot be changed. You cannot delete a user role and you cannot create custom user roles. Energy Hub has the following user roles: Admin, Operator, Engineer, Technician, Site Manager, Support, and Viewer. For information on user role privileges in Energy Hub, see User privileges.
Access permissions
Access permissions are assigned to users. They determine the data a user can access within an organization in Energy Hub.
You can control data access at different levels of the organizational hierarchy. For example, you can restrict access to certain regions or sites. By default, there is one set of access permissions called All My Organization that allows access to data for the entire organization.
You can create custom access permissions. You can edit and delete custom access permissions. You cannot edit or delete the default All My Organization permissions. The default permissions are identified as System permissions in the Energy Hub user interface.
Limited privileges for users with restricted access permissions
Users with restricted access permissions for an organization cannot view, invite, update, or remove user accounts for that organization. Access permissions are restricted if they are set to anything less than the default All My Organization permissions. For example, the access permissions of a user might be restricted to a certain site within the organization.
NOTE: This applies to all user roles, including Admin.
