System setup

How to manage subscriptions, configure alarming, configure system settings, build the organization model, and manage users.

Subscriptions

Energy Hub feature plan subscriptions determine the features that are available to you in Energy Hub and the number of devices and equipment you are allowed to connect to your system. Find out how to create, renew, or change your subscription, how to add additional device credits, and more.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, select Create subscription. The Create subscription panel displays.
  3. In Create subscription, select the method you want to use for ordering the subscription, online or offline. Select Next.
  4. Select from the available subscription options.
  5. Review the summary information.
  6. For online ordering, select Go to checkout portal. Follow the checkout instructions to complete the order.
    For offline ordering, copy the order details to the clipboard and share these details later with your Schneider Electric sales representative or an authorized distributor.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, find detailed information on your current subscription.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

NOTE: Site manager mode displays a newer, feature plan-based view of subscription details.

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. In Setup, select Subscription. The Manage Subscription screen displays.
  3. In Manage subscription, view subscription details.

Technician mode:

NOTE: Technician mode shows an older, application module-based view of subscription details.

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. In Setup, under Organization setup, select Manage subscriptions. The Manage subscriptions screen displays.
  3. In Manage subscriptions, view subscription details.
NOTES:
  • Only offline subscriptions need to be renewed manually. Online subscriptions are renewed automatically.
  • The earliest you can renew an offline subscription is after 120 days of the current term.
  • To find out if your subscription needs to be renewed manually, go to Setup > Subscription and check the Renewal type.
  • Before renewing a subscription, verify that your Schneider Electric ID profile has the required information about your business. For details on the required information, see To get a Schneider Electric ID.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, select Renew subscription. The Renew subscription panel displays.
  3. In Renew subscription, select the method you want to use for ordering the subscription, online or offline. Select Next.
  4. Review the summary information.
  5. Select Go to checkout portal. Follow the checkout instructions to complete the order.
NOTES:
  • The earliest you can change a subscription is after one year of the current term.

  • During the subscription term, you can only upgrade to a higher feature plan. After the term expires, you can switch to a higher or lower plan.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, select Change subscription. The Change subscription panel displays.
  3. In Change subscription, select the method you want to use for ordering the changes, online or offline. Select Next.
  4. Select from the available subscription options.
  5. Review the summary information.
  6. For online ordering, select Go to checkout portal. Follow the checkout instructions to complete the order.
    For offline ordering, copy the order details to the clipboard and share these details later with your Schneider Electric sales representative or an authorized distributor.

NOTE: To activate a subscription that you ordered offline, you need an activation code. You receive the activation code after you complete the offline order with your Schneider Electric sales representative or an authorized distributor.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, select Activate offline subscription. The Activate subscription panel displays.
  3. In Activate subscription, enter your activation code. Select Next.
  4. Review the activation details.
  5. Select Activate to activate the subscription.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. In Setup, select Subscription. The Manage Subscription screen displays.
  3. In Manage subscription, select Activate subscription. The Activate subscription screen displays.
  4. In Activate subscription, enter your activation code. Select Submit. The Activate Subscription confirmation dialog displays.
  5. Select Confirm to activate the subscription.

Technician mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Organization setup, select Manage subscriptions. The Manage subscriptions screen displays.
  3. In Manage subscriptions, scroll down to find the Activate Subscription option.
  4. Select Activate Subscription. The Activate subscription screen displays.
  5. In Activate subscription, enter your activation code. Select Submit. The Activate Subscription confirmation dialog displays.
  6. Select Confirm to activate the subscription.

NOTE: You can deactivate an offline subscription within 30 days after activation. After deactivating the subscription, you can use the activation code to reactivate it for the same organization or for a different organization. A reactivated subscription is valid until the end of the original subscription term.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, select Deactivate offline subscription. The Deactivate offline subscription confirmation displays.
  3. Copy and save the activation code for future use, then select Deactivate offline subscription to deactivate the subscription.
NOTES:
  • Only the renewal of online subscriptions can be canceled. Offline subscriptions are not automatically renewed.
  • To find out if your subscription renews automatically, go to Setup > Subscription and check the Renewal type.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, select Cancel automatic renewal. The Cancel automatic renewal confirmation displays.
  3. Select Cancel automatic renewal to cancel the automatic subscription renewal.

[Web app and mobile app]

You cannot cancel a subscription.

You can (web app only):

NOTE: For online subscriptions, you can only add additional device credits at the end of the subscription term. For offline subscriptions you can buy credits at any time during the term.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Subscription.
  2. On the Manage subscription page, select Buy additional device credits. The Buy additional device credits panel displays.
  3. In Buy additional device credits, select the method you want to use for ordering the subscription, online or offline. Select Next.
  4. Enter the number of additional device credits you want to buy.
  5. Review the summary information.
  6. For online ordering, select Go to checkout portal. Follow the checkout instructions to complete the order.
    For offline ordering, copy the order details to the clipboard and share these details later with your Schneider Electric sales representative or an authorized distributor.

Alarming and notifications

Alarming keeps you informed about exceptional operating conditions. Find out how to create and manage software alarm rules, acknowledge alarms, and more.

NOTE: Changing notification settings might lead to missed important alarms. Before making any changes, check that there are no critical alarms set for those priorities and categories.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Notification settings.
  2. In the configuration panel, update the notification settings as needed.

[Mobile app – Technician mode only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under User preferences, select Notification settings. The Notifications screen displays.
  3. In Notifications, update the notifications filter criteria for alarm priority and alarm category for email notifications and mobile push notifications as needed.

NOTE: This acknowledges the latest instance of this alarm and any previously unacknowledged instances.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, find the alarm you want to acknowledge, for example, in Inbox or in the Investigate > Asset view.
  2. Select the alarm. The alarm details display, either in the details panel in Inbox, or in a dialog in Investigate.
  3. In the alarm details, find the alarm acknowledgment section.
  4. (Optional) In the alarm acknowledgment section, enter a comment to be recorded with the acknowledgment.
  5. Select Acknowledge to acknowledge the alarm.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the Home tab. The Alarms summary displays.
  2. Tap the display to open the alarms list and find the alarm you want to acknowledge.

    TIP: (Optional) modify the alarm filter settings to find the alarm you are looking for.

  3. Select the alarm. The alarm details screen displays.
  4. In the alarm details screen, scroll down to find the alarm acknowledgment option.
  5. Select Acknowledge. The Acknowledge Alarm screen displays.
  6. (Optional) In Acknowledge Alarm, enter a comment to be recorded with the acknowledgment.
  7. Select Acknowledge to acknowledge the alarm.

Technician mode:

To acknowledge an alarm using Inbox:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the Inbox tab. A list of alarms displays.
  2. Find the alarm you want to acknowledge.
  3. Select the alarm. The alarm details screen displays.
  4. In the alarm details screen, scroll down to find the alarm acknowledgment option.
  5. Select Acknowledge. The Acknowledge Alarm screen displays.
  6. (Optional) In Acknowledge Alarm, enter a comment to be recorded with the acknowledgment.
  7. Select Acknowledge to acknowledge the alarm.

To acknowledge an alarm using Investigate:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the Investigate tab. A list of sites displays.
  2. Drill down in the list and select the location or load you want to acknowledge an alarm for. The Investigate screen for the selected item displays, showing alarm information.

    TIP: To drill down, tap a site to see the locations and loads within it. Keep tapping locations to see child locations and loads until you find the one you are looking for.

  3. Select the Active alarms tile. A list of alarms displays.
  4. Find the alarm you want to acknowledge.
  5. Select the alarm. The alarm details screen displays.
  6. In the alarm details screen, scroll down to find the alarm acknowledgment option.
  7. Select Acknowledge. The Acknowledge Alarm screen displays.
  8. (Optional) In Acknowledge Alarm, enter a comment to be recorded with the acknowledgment.
  9. Select Acknowledge to acknowledge the alarm.

[Mobile app – Technician mode only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, on the Inbox or Investigate tab, find the alarm you want to share. For instructions on how to view alarms, see To view alarm information.
  2. Select the alarm. The alarm details screen displays.
  3. In the alarm details screen, from the options menu (three dots), select Share Alarm. The sharing options of your mobile device display.
  4. From the sharing options, select the one you want to use to share the alarm.
IMPORTANT:
  • The data for this functionality is not real-time. Energy Hub uses the latest logged data from the equipment or monitoring device. Updates occur every 10 minutes.
  • You can only set up a software-based alarm if Energy Hub received relevant data for that alarm type from the equipment or device in the last seven days.

NOTE: Consumption alarms are based on the total consumption for a location. For example, for a location with multiple water meters, the water overconsumption alarm uses the sum of all the meters.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Investigate and select the Asset view or Energy view.
  2. In the organization tree, select the location, device, or equipment that you want to create the alarm rule for.

    NOTE: Some alarms only apply to certain locations, devices, or equipment. For information on the applicability of alarms, see Alarms

  3. In the information panel for the location, select the Alarm Settings tab. A list of existing alarm rules for this location displays.
  4. On the alarm settings tab, select Add Alarm Rule. The Create new alarm rule panel displays.
  5. In Create new alarm rule, in the Alarm Type section, select the type of alarm rule you want to create. Select Next.
  6. In Create new alarm rule, in the Setpoint section, define parameters such as observation period, aggregation interval, alarm priority, alarm ON threshold value, and others. Select Next.
  7. In Create new alarm rule, in the General section, define a name for the new alarm rule.
  8. (Optional) In Create new alarm rule, in the General section, disable the new alarm rule if you do not want it to take effect immediately.

    NOTE: You can enable or disable alarm rules at any time on the alarm settings tab in the information panel for the location.

  9. Select Finish.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Select Alarm rules. The Alarm rules screen displays, showing existing alarm rules for the selected site.

    TIP: You can select the site that Site manager is showing information for on the Home screen.

    NOTE: You cannot change the alarm type of an existing alarm rule.

  7. Select Next to move to the General section.
  8. (Optional) Update the alarm rule name.
  9. Select Finish.

[Mobile app]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.

  7. (Optional) Update the alarm rule name.
  8. Select Finish.

  4. In Alarm settings for the location or load, find the alarm rule you want to enable or disable.
  5. Toggle the slider control for this alarm rule to enable or disable the alarm rule.

  2. In the organization tree, select the location that you want to delete the alarm rule for.
  3. In the information panel for the location, select the Alarm Settings tab. A list of existing alarm rules for this location displays.
  4. Find the alarm rule that you want to delete.
  5. From the options menu (three dots) for the alarm rule, select Delete.

  4. On the alarm rule options tile, select Edit alarm rule. The Edit alarm rule configuration screen displays.
  5. In Edit alarm rule, scroll to the bottom of the screen, then select Delete to delete the alarm rule.

Technician mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Alarm settings, select Manage alarm settings. The Alarm settings screen displays with a list of sites.
  3. In Alarm settings, find and select the location or load you want to delete an alarm rule for. The Alarm settings screen for the selected item displays, showing existing alarm rules for the location or load.

    TIP: To find a location or load, tap a site to see the locations within it. Keep tapping locations to see child locations and loads until you find the item you are looking for.

  4. In Alarm settings for the location or load, from the options menu (three dots) of the alarm rule you want to delete, select Delete alarm rule to delete the alarm rule.

System settings

Energy Hub uses settings to control application appearance, behavior, and information processing. Settings can apply to the entire organization, or to specific locations, devices, or functions. Find out how to edit organization settings, user preferences, notification settings, and more.

NOTE: Your user role and access permissions determine which settings you can view and edit.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Organization settings.
  2. In the configuration panel, update the organization settings as needed.

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Select Organization settings. The Organization settings screen displays.
  3. In Organization settings, update the organization settings as needed.
  4. Select Save.

Technician mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Organization setup, select Change regional settings. The Country and Units screen displays.
  3. In Country and Units, update the organization settings as needed.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > User preferences.
  2. In the configuration panel, update the user preferences as needed.

[Mobile app – Technician mode only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under User preferences, select Notification settings or Language and region.
  3. Update the user preferences as needed.
NOTES:

  • Some of the display language in the user interface is controlled by the language setting in Energy Hub, while other parts are controlled by your web browser's language setting. For a consistent display language, use the same language setting in both Energy Hub and your browser.

  • Data formats, such as dates and numbers, are controlled by your browser's regional settings. To see appropriate data formats in Energy Hub, select the correct regional settings for your locale in your browser.

  • The chosen display language applies to all of the user's organizations.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > User preferences.
  2. In User preferences, under Language, select the display language you want to use. The Energy Hub user interface changes to the new language immediately.

[Mobile app – Technician mode only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under User preferences, select Language and region. The Language and Region screen displays.
  3. In Language and Region, change the Language setting as needed.

NOTE: The currency is set at the organization level in Energy Hub. Different organizations can have different currencies.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Organization settings.
  2. In Organization settings, in the Country section, select the country for which you want to see the currency. This will auto-select the correct currency for this country based on regional defaults.

    To overwrite the default regional settings for currency,

    1. In Organization settings, in the Data formats section, clear the Use region specific defaults checkbox.
    2. In the Currency box, select the currency you would like to use for your organization.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Select Organization settings. The Organization settings screen displays.
  3. In Organization settings, change the Currency setting as needed.
  4. Select Save.

Technician mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Organization setup, select Change regional settings. The Country and Units screen displays.
  3. In Country and Units, in the Country section, select the country for which you want to see the currency. This will auto-select the correct currency for this country based on regional defaults.

    To overwrite the default regional settings for currency,

    1. In Country and Units, clear the Use recommended setting based on region setting checkbox.
    2. In the Currency box, select the currency you would like to use for your organization.

NOTE: This affects all applications on your computer that support dark mode and light mode.

  1. In Microsoft Windows, go to Settings > Personalization > Colors.
  2. In the Colors configuration area, set Choose your color to the color scheme that you want to use, Dark or Light. Windows changes the color scheme immediately. You do not need to restart the browser.

[Mobile app]

Light and dark mode are controlled by your mobile device settings. To change the mode, edit the mobile device settings.

You cannot set a time zone for a site explicitly. The time zone that is used for a site is based on the street address for the site in Energy Hub. To find out how to enter a street address, see To enter a street address for a location.

[Mobile app only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Site Manager or Technician to switch to the respective mode.

Organization model

Energy uses an organization model to model your facility, energy networks, loads, and energy usage types. The organization model includes locations, equipment and monitoring devices that are providing the measurement data for the loads and supplies in your facility. NOTE: This is for Energy Hub service providers with access to multiple organizations.

  1. In Energy Hub, in the application header, in the organization selector, select Create new organization. The Create new organization workflow displays.
  2. Follow the workflow steps and provide the required information to create the new organization.

[Mobile app – Technician mode only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Manage organization, below the name of the selected site. The Manage organization screen displays, showing the list of organizations you have access to.
  2. In Manage organization, select Create new organization. The Create new organization screen displays.
  3. Follow the workflow steps and provide the required information to create the new organization.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Investigate and select the Asset view or Energy view.
  2. In the organization tree, select the organization (top node in the tree).
  3. In the information panel, on the Info tab, from the options menu (three dots), select Edit to open the information panel editor.
  4. In the information panel editor, edit the organization name and description.
  5. Select Save.

TIP: You can also edit the profile for an organization in Setup > System setup. In the configuration panel, find the organization tile, and from the options menu (three dots)of the tile select Edit organization.

You cannot delete an organization in Energy Hub.

NOTE: This is for Energy Hub service providers with access to multiple organizations.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to the organization selector in the application header.
  2. From the organization selector, select the organization you want to access.

[Mobile app]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Manage organization, below the name of the selected site. The Manage organization screen displays showing the list of organizations you have access to.
  2. In Manage organization, select the organization you would like to switch to.
  3. Select Select to switch to the new organization.

NOTE: The currency is set at the organization level in Energy Hub. Different organizations can have different currencies.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Organization settings.
  2. In Organization settings, in the Country section, select the country for which you want to see the currency. This will auto-select the correct currency for this country based on regional defaults.

    To overwrite the default regional settings for currency,

    1. In Organization settings, in the Data formats section, clear the Use region specific defaults checkbox.
    2. In the Currency box, select the currency you would like to use for your organization.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Select Organization settings. The Organization settings screen displays.
  3. In Organization settings, change the Currency setting as needed.
  4. Select Save.

Technician mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Organization setup, select Change regional settings. The Country and Units screen displays.
  3. In Country and Units, in the Country section, select the country for which you want to see the currency. This will auto-select the correct currency for this country based on regional defaults.

    To overwrite the default regional settings for currency,

    1. In Country and Units, clear the Use recommended setting based on region setting checkbox.
    2. In the Currency box, select the currency you would like to use for your organization.

[Web app and mobile app]

You cannot set a time zone for a site explicitly. The time zone that is used for a site is based on the street address for the site in Energy Hub. To find out how to enter a street address, see To enter a street address for a location.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In Set up system, drag the Region item onto the organization tile in the configuration panel. The information panel opens in edit mode.
  3. In the information panel, add the required information to define the region.
  4. Select Create.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In Set up system, drag the Site item onto the organization tile or a region tile in the configuration panel. The information panel opens in edit mode.
  3. In the information panel, add the required information to define the site.

  2. In the options menu, select Add site. The Add site screen displays.
  3. In Add site, enter the required information to define the site.
  4. Select Create site.

  2. In the organization model in the configuration panel, find the site you want to configure and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.

    NOTE: If there are no sites set up in the organization, add a site first. For step-by-step instructions on how to add a site, see To add a site.

  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view or Energy view, drag relevant items onto the organization model in the configuration panel. For example, drag a Floor item onto a Building item.
  4. Define the item details in the Create new <item> dialog that is displayed each time an item is dragged onto the organization model.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Organization settings.
  2. In the configuration panel, change the country setting as needed.

[Mobile app – Technician mode only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Organization setup, select Change regional settings. The Country and Units screen displays.
  3. In Country and Units, change the Country setting as needed.
NOTES:
  • You can enter an address for a site or a building, not for an organization, region, or location within a building.
  • The default address for locations within a site is the site address. You can change this default by entering a new address for a location.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Investigate and select the Asset view or Energy view.
  2. In the organization tree, select the location that you want to enter a street address for.
  3. In the information panel, on the Info tab, from the options menu (three dots), select Edit to open the information panel editor
  4. In the information panel editor, under Location, find the Address line box and enter the street address for this location.
  5. Select Save.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Investigate and select the Asset view or Energy view.
  2. In the organization tree, select the location that you want to set the floor area for.
  3. In the information panel for the location, on the Info tab, from the options menu (three dots), select Edit to open the information panel editor
  4. In the information panel editor, under Information, find the Floor area box and enter the floor area for this location.

    NOTE: Enter the value in the unit of measurement shown in the box label (ft2 or m2). The unit of measurement is determined by the organization settings.

  5. Select Save.

TIP: You can also configure the floor area for a location in Setup > System setup, in the information panel for the location.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Investigate and select any of the views (Asset, Energy, Electrical, or Cost).
  2. In the organization tree, select the location that you want to edit the setting for.
  3. In the information panel for the location, on the Info tab, from the options menu (three dots), select Edit to open the information panel editor.
  4. In the information panel editor, find the setting that you want to edit and make your changes.
  5. Select Save.

NOTE: Buildings are top-level locations of a site and cannot be moved.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration panel, find the site where you want to move the item.
  3. Select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  4. In the Asset view, find the item that you want to move.
  5. From the options menu (three dots) for the item, select Move. The Move <item type> dialog displays.
  6. In Move <item type>, select a new parent for the item you want to move.

    TIP: You can also move items by dragging them by the 4-way arrow icon .

  7. Select Move to move the item.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2.  
    1. (For a region or site) In the organization model in the configuration panel, find the region or site that you want to delete.
    2. (For locations within a site) Find the site with the location you want to delete.
      Select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
      In the Asset view, find the location that you want to delete.
  3. From the options menu (three dots) for the item, select Delete <item type> to delete the item.

Loads, supplies, and usage types

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration panel, find the site that you want to add the load or supply to and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Energy view, under Add loads and supplies, find the device that monitors the load or supply that you want to add.
  4. If the device has the correct energy usage type assigned to it, drag the device onto the relevant location in the organization model to add it to this location.

    TIP: To add multiple devices to the same location, use Shift+click or Ctrl+click to select the devices in the list.

    If the device does not have an energy usage type assigned to it, or if the assigned usage type is incorrect, then:

    1. Drag the device and hold it over the relevant location in the organization model. The Assign energy usage type dialog displays, showing a list of recently selected usage types..
    2. Drop the device on the desired usage type in the list. If you do not see the correct usage type in the list, or the list is empty, drop the device on the Assign a different usage type button. The Assign energy usage type dialog displays.
    3. In Assign energy usage type, find and select the usage type you want, and select Assign.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration panel, find the site with the load or supply that you want to change the energy usage type for and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Energy view, in the organization model, find the device that monitors the load or supply that you want to change the energy usage type for.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the device, select Change usage type to open the Change energy usage type dialog.
  5. In Change energy usage type, select the new usage type for the device.
  6. Select Change.
TIP:

  • You can also change the usage type for a device by pointing to the 4-way arrow on the device tile, then dragging the device onto the location it is associated with in the organization model. This opens the Change energy usage type dialog.

  • To change the usage type for multiple devices at the same time, use Ctrl+click to select them, then drag them by the 4-way arrow onto the associated location.

NOTE: Removing a load or supply only removes the association of a device with a location. The device will not be deleted from Energy Hub. The device will be marked as Unassociated in the device list. It will keep the last energy usage type that was assigned to it. You can reassign this usage type when you add the device to the organization model again.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration panel, find the site with the load or supply that you want to remove and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Energy view, in the organization model, find the device that monitors the load or supply that you want to remove.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the device, select Remove device to remove the device and unassociate it from the location in the organization model.

TIP: To remove multiple devices, use Ctrl+click to select the devices, then, from the options menu (three dots) of any one of the devices, select Remove selected.

Equipment

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site that you want to add the equipment to and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.

    NOTE: If there are no sites set up in the organization, add a site first. For step-by-step instructions on how to add a site, see To add a site.

  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, drag the Equipment item onto the relevant location tile in the organization model or select Add equipment from the location tile options menu (three dots). The Add equipment panel displays.
  4. In Add equipment, choose your preferred method of identifying the equipment and complete the identification process.

    NOTE: You can identify a piece of equipment by scanning its QR code, or by manually entering its identification codes.

[Mobile app – Technician mode only]

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, in Inbox or in Investigate, select the plus button . An options menu displays.
  2. In the options menu, select Add asset. The Add asset screen displays.
  3. In Add asset, choose your preferred method of identifying the equipment and complete the identification process.

    NOTE: You can identify a piece of equipment by scanning its QR code, or by manually entering its identification codes.

NOTE: This only affects Energy Hub. It does not change the properties or settings of the equipment itself.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the equipment you want to edit and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, find the equipment you want to edit.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the equipment, select Edit. The Edit equipment panel displays.

    TIP: You can also open the Edit equipment panel by selecting the equipment and then selecting Edit in the information panel.

  5. In the Edit equipment panel, update the information that you want to change.
  6. Select Save.

[Web app and mobile app]

You cannot delete individual pieces of equipment from your organization in Energy Hub.

The only way to delete equipment is to delete the gateway that it is associated with. Deleting a gateway deletes all equipment that is associated with this gateway. See To delete a gateway for more information on this topic.

Panelboards

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site that you want to add a panelboard to and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, drag a Panelboard item onto the relevant location or select Add panelboard from the options menu (three dots) for the location. The Create new panelboard dialog displays.
  4. In Create new panelboard, define a panelboard name and any other relevant information.
  5. Select Save.
NOTES:
  • You can use panelboards for monitoring electricity, water, or gas. Only add devices of the same type (electricity, water, gas) to a panelboard.
  • Devices may be preassigned to panelboards based on the gateway configuration. If needed, these preassigned devices can be moved to other panelboards.
  • You must assign context to a device when adding it to a panelboard or later. For step-by-step instructions on how to assign context later, see To assign device context for a panelboard
  • You can add a device to only one panelboard. This means the same device cannot be used as a feeder (outgoing) for one panelboard and as a mains (incoming) for another.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site that you want to add a device to a panelboard and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, find the panelboard you want to add a device to, then find the device and move it onto the panelboard.

    TIP: To move a device, drag it by the 4-way arrow icon onto the panelboard or select Move from the device options menu (three dots) and follow the on-screen instructions.

  4. Assign context to the device as Mains (incoming) or Feeders (outgoing) when dragging it, by dropping it onto the relevant option in the box that displays when the device is dragged onto a panelboard. Alternatively, you can assign context after the device has been moved, from its options menu (three dots).

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the panelboard that you want to assign context for and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, find the panelboard that you want to assign context for.
  4. On the panelboard, find the device that you want to assign context for.
  5. From the options menu (three dots) for the device, select Assign as main (incoming) or Assign as feeder (outgoing) depending on the energy flow the device is monitoring.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the panelboard that you want to unassign context for and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, find the panelboard that you want to unassign context for.
  4. On the panelboard, find the device that you want to unassign context for.
  5. From the options menu (three dots) for the device, select Unassign.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the panelboard that you want to edit and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, find the panelboard that you want to edit.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the panelboard, select Edit. The Edit panelboard dialog displays.

    TIP: You can also edit a panelboard by selecting the panelboard and then, in the information panel, from the options menu (three dots), selecting Edit to open the information panel editor.

  5. In Edit panelboard, update the information that you want to change.
  6. Select Save.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the panelboard that you want to delete and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Asset view, find the panelboard that you want to delete.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the panelboard, select Delete panelboard to delete the panelboard.

Devices

[Web app and mobile app]

You cannot directly add a device to your organization in Energy Hub. To add a device to a site, you need to add the device to the communication gateway in your facility that is connected to the site in Energy Hub. After the device has been added to the gateway, it will automatically appear in Energy Hub.

NOTES:

  • For Energy Hub to recognize a device as a water or gas meter, set the correct I/O Contextualization and Commodity settings in the Panel Server gateway. If the Commodity setting is incorrect, you can also adjust it in Energy Hub. See Settings for information on the Commodity setting.

  • It can take 15 - 20 minutes after connecting a new device to a gateway until device data is available in Energy Hub.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Investigate and select the Asset view or Energy view.
  2. In the organization tree, select the device that you want to edit the setting for.
  3. In the information panel for the device, on the Info tab, from the options menu (three dots), select Edit to open the information panel editor.
  4. In the information panel editor, find the setting that you want to edit and make your changes.
  5. Select Save.

You cannot delete individual devices from your organization in Energy Hub.

Virtual devices

NOTE: The panelboard that the virtual device is added to needs at least one main (incoming) device for the virtual device to provide data.

  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the panelboard that you want to add a virtual device to and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in Asset view, find the panelboard that you want to add a virtual device to.
  4. Drag a Virtual device item onto the panelboard or select Add virtual device from the options menu (three dots) for the panelboard. The Add a virtual device dialog displays.
  5. In Add a virtual device, define a virtual device name and any other relevant information.
  6. Select Add.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the virtual device that you want to edit and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in Asset view, find the virtual device that you want to edit.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the virtual device, select Edit virtual device. The Edit virtual device dialog displays.
  5. In Edit virtual device, update the information that you want to change.
  6. Select Save.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the virtual device that you want to see details for and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in Asset view, find the virtual device that you want to see details for.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the virtual device, select View allocation details to see the virtual device details.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the virtual device that you want to delete and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in Asset view, find the virtual device that you want to delete.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the virtual device, select Delete virtual device to delete the virtual device.

Gateways

Gateway identification codes

Panel Server

The identification codes for Panel Server are its serial number and device code. The device code is only available for Panel Server firmware versions 1.10 and greater, which includes all Panel Servers manufactured after June 1, 2024 (*). Older versions do not have a device code and you can add these older Panel Server versions to Energy Hub without entering a device code.

For Panel Server firmware versions 1.10 and greater, you can find the serial number and device code in the Panel Server Webpages (in Settings > Data Publication > Schneider Cloud service applications management) or through the EcoStruxure Power Commission software. For older versions, find the serial number on the Panel Server Webpages login page.

(*) The manufacturing date is shown in the serial number of the device. The 3-7 highest digits of the serial number show the year (YY), week (WW), and day of the week(D) it was manufactured (xxYYWWDxxxxx). Serial numbers for Panel Servers manufactured on June 1, 2024 or later have a year, week, day code that is equal to or greater than 24226 (year = 24, week = 22, day = 6) –> xx24226xxxxx.

Site Server

The identification code for Site Server is its Site Key. You can find the Site Key in the Site Server Web Application (in Settings > Server > Cloud Connection).

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > System setup.
  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the gateway that you want to edit and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.
  3. In Configure site, in the Communications view, find the gateway that you want to edit.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for the gateway, select Edit. The Edit gateway dialog displays.

    TIP: You can also edit a gateway by selecting the gateway and then, in the information panel, from the options menu (three dots), selecting Edit to open the information panel editor.

  5. In Edit gateway, update the information that you want to change.
  6. Select Save.

NOTE: Deleting a gateway deletes all the assets, devices, and device data associated with the gateway.

  2. In the organization model in the configuration area, find the site with the gateway you want to delete and select Configure site. The Configure site screen displays.

Users

A user in Energy Hub is a logical entity that gives you access to the system. A user has certain privileges that define what the user can do and the data they can access. Find out how to invite new users, manage existing users, and manage user privileges.

To add a new user, invite them to join your organization. See To invite a new user for details.

NOTE: Users can only access the organization they have been invited to.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Invitations tab, select Invite new users. The Invite new users panel displays.
  3. In the Invite new users panel, enter the email address, user role, and access permissions for the new user.
  4. (Optional) Select Add another user to invite additional users.
  5. Select Send invitations.

The new user is added to the system when the recipient accepts the invitation.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Select Manage users. The Manage users screen displays.

A user in Energy Hub is linked to their Schneider Electric IDClosed This is the account you can use to log in to all Schneider services, including Energy Hub.. The username, password, company name, and other profile settings are defined and managed through the Schneider Electric ID.

NOTE: Restricting data access for a user limits their privileges. For details, see Limited privileges for users with restricted access permissions.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Users tab, in the users table, find the user you want to change privileges for.
  3. From the options menu (three dots) for this user, select Change privileges. The Change privileges panel displays.
  4. In the Change privileges panel, make changes to the user role and access permissions as needed.
  5. Select Change privileges.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.

  2. Select Manage users. The Manage users screen displays.
  3. In Manage users, find the user you want to determine the privileges for.
  4. Select the user you want to determine the privileges for. The Edit user screen displays.
  5. In Edit user, view the user role and access permissions.
  6. In Edit user, select the back arrow navigation in the top left corner of the screen to exit without making changes to the user privileges.

Technician mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Organization setup, select Manage users. The Manage users screen displays.
  3. In Manage users, find the user you want to determine the privileges for.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for this user, select Change privileges. The Change privileges screen displays.
  5. In Change privileges, view the user role and access permissions.
  6. In Change privileges, select Cancel, or select "x" in the top left corner of the screen to exit without making changes to the user privileges.

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Access tab, find the access permissions you want to edit.
  3. From the options menu (three dots) for these access permissions, select Edit access permissions.
  4. In the Edit access permissions panel, update the access permissions information as needed.
  5. Select Save.

NOTE: Restricting data access for a user limits their privileges. For details, see Limited privileges for users with restricted access permissions.

TIPS:
  • Use existing access permissions as a starting point for custom access permissions. See To copy access permissions for details.

  • Custom access permissions are based on your organizational model. If defining the right permissions is difficult, review and adjust your model. A well-defined organization simplifies setting user roles and access permissions.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Access tab, select Create new access permissions. The Create new access permissions panel displays.
  3. In the Create new access permissions panel, enter information to define the new access permissions.
  4. Select Save.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Access tab, find the access permissions you want to copy.
  3. From the options menu (three dots) for these access permissions, select Copy access permissions. The Copy access permissions panel displays.
  4. In the Copy access permissions panel, update the information to define the new access permissions.
  5. Select Save.

NOTE: You can delete custom access permissions that you created. You cannot delete default System access permissions.

[Web app only]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Access tab, find the access permissions you want to delete.
  3. From the options menu (three dots) for these access permissions, select Delete access permissions. The Delete access permissions dialog displays.
  4. In the Delete access permissions dialog:
    1. If users are assigned to these access permissions, reassign them to different access permissions, then select Reassign and delete.
    2. If no users are assigned to these access permissions, select Delete.

NOTES:
  • Removing a user removes them from the current organization. To remove users with access to multiple organizations, remove them individually from each organization.
  • You cannot undo removing a user. To give a user that was removed access to your organization again, invite them again as a new user.

[Web app]

  1. In Energy Hub, go to Setup > Users.
  2. On the Users tab, in the users table, find the user you want to remove.
  3. From the options menu (three dots) for this user, select Remove user.

[Mobile app]

Site manager mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Site manager mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Select Manage users. The Manage users screen displays.
  3. In Manage users, find the user you want to determine the privileges for.
  4. Select the user you want to determine the privileges for. The Edit user screen displays.
  5. In Edit user, scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Remove user to remove this user.

Technician mode:

  1. In the Energy Hub mobile app, in Technician mode, open the application options menu (three lines) and select Setup. The Setup options screen displays.
  2. Under Organization setup, select Manage users. The Manage users screen displays.
  3. In Manage users, find the user you want to remove.
  4. From the options menu (three dots) for this user, select Remove user to remove this user.
