Energy Hub subscriptions
Overview
To use Energy Hub, you must have a subscription to an Energy Hub feature plan. Feature plans determine the features that are available to you in Energy Hub.
The cost of a subscription is based on the number of devices and equipment that are connected to your Energy Hub system. The cost per device depends on the type of plan and the subscription term. Subscriptions can have one-year or three-year terms. Typically, plans with more features have a higher cost per device than plans with fewer features; plans with a one-year term have a higher cost per device per year than plans with a three-year term.

Subscription terms
Feature plan subscriptions are available with one-year and three-year terms.
You manage your subscription in Energy Hub. You can view information about your current subscription, such as feature plan and device credit details, the renewal type, and the expiration date. You can also perform the following subscription management tasks:
- Create a subscription (for new organizations)
- Renew your subscription (only for offline subscriptions; online subscriptions renew automatically)
- Change your subscription (change the feature plan, select add-ons, and more)
- Activate an offline subscription
- Deactivate an offline subscription (only within 30 days after activation)
- Cancel automatic renewal (only for online subscriptions)
- Buy additional device credits
Only Admin users can manage subscriptions. Viewer users cannot access the subscription management page. Other users have view-only access to the subscription information.
NOTE: You can cancel the automatic renewal of a subscription, but you cannot cancel an active subscription.
NOTE: If you do not renew a subscription before it expires, the functionality provided by the subscription will no longer be available for your organization in Energy Hub. Historical energy data will be saved and will be available again if the subscription is renewed.
For step-by-step instructions on subscription management, see Subscriptions.
Device credits
A device credit is a license to connect a supported device or piece of equipment to Energy Hub. You specify the number of device credits you want when you buy a new subscription. For existing subscriptions, you can add additional device credits at any time.
NOTE: Device credits can only be purchased in increments of 1. Fractional credits must be rounded up to the next whole number. For example, for a device credit requirement of 12.25 credits, you need to purchase 13 credits.
The following table shows the number of credits required for different device types:
Device type | Examples | Comments | Credits per device |
---|---|---|---|
Power monitoring devices | Power meter Energy meter |
- | 1 |
Equipment with embedded metering | Circuit breaker | - | 1 |
Emergency lighting | Exiway Light | - | 1 |
Multi-circuit meters | Branch circuit monitor | A multi-circuit meter is a device with one metering unit and multiple branch circuit current transformers (CTs). | 1 |
Control devices | PowerTag Control | - | 1 |
Non-Schneider devices | - | These devices need custom Panel Server device drivers (models). | 1 |
Environmental sensors | TH110 HeatTag |
- | 0.25 |
WAGES meters with pulse outputs | Water meter connected through EcoStruxure I/O Smart Link Modbus | A WAGES meter is a device that measures non-electrical commodities, such as water or gas. | 0.09 |

Communication devices | Panel Server | - | 0 |
I/O devices | Smart Link Modbus | - | 0 |

NOTE: If you connect more devices or equipment to Energy Hub than you have device credits, you violate the Energy Hub license agreement.
Energy Hub system size
You need at least one device credit to buy an Energy Hub feature plan subscription. There is no defined upper limit on how many devices and device credits you can have.
There is no defined upper limit on how many users you can add to the system.
API feature plans and API add-ons give you access to the Energy Hub data application programming interface (API).
An API feature plan gives you data access through the API, but not through the Energy Hub web and mobile applications. With an API feature plan, you can use the web application only for system configuration. An API add-on is added to a regular Energy Hub feature plan, which gives you data access to the API, in addition to the web and mobile apps.
Online subscriptions
You can buy subscriptions or additional device credits online through the Energy Hub web application. Buying online is easy and your new or changed subscription is available immediately.
Use the online method for buying subscriptions if you can use a credit card to pay for the subscription, and if you prefer ordering online.
NOTE: Subscriptions purchased online automatically renew at the end of the subscription term. You can cancel the automatic renewal through the Energy Hub web application.
Offline subscriptions
You can buy subscriptions or additional device credits offline using the Energy Hub web application to generate the order details. Contact your Schneider Electric sales representative or an authorized distributor with the order details to receive an activation code for your subscription. Use the activation code to activate the subscription in the Energy Hub web application.
Use the offline method for buying subscriptions if you cannot use a credit card to pay for the subscription, or if you prefer to order through a Schneider Electric sales representative or an authorized distributor.
NOTE: You must manually renew offline subscriptions. You can transition to an online subscription with automatic renewal by renewing an offline subscription online at the end of the subscription term.
To find a Schneider Electric distributor, see Find a distributor on the Schneider Electric website.
Adding device credits to an offline subscription
When you add device credits to an offline subscription, these credits have their own renewal date based on the date when the credits were added. This renewal date is independent of the original feature plan renewal date. You must renew additional device credits before they expire. This is different from online subscriptions, where additional device credits are automatically renewed as part of the feature plan renewal. If device credits expire, they can no longer be used for devices in your Energy Hub system. Energy Hub will inform you if you do not have enough device credits and remind you to add additional credits.
You can find the subscription details for your organization in your Energy Hub system, in Setup > Subscription.
